Ijaw Leaders Warns Militants Not To Declare A Republic Of Niger Delta

The pioneers of Thoughts of Ijaw ethnic nationality in the Niger Delta area at a meeting in Warri, Delta State, facilitated by Ijaw national pioneer, Chief Edwin Clark throughout the weekend, cautioned Ijaw aggressors against their promise to announce the Republic of Niger-Delta. 


At the meeting were, Bayelsa state representative, Hon Henry Seriake Dickson, Deputy Governor of Delta state, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, previous Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Sir Gabriel Toby, previous Minister of Culture, Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas, previous Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Brodrick Bozimo. 

Likewise in participation were previous national executive of the Traditional Rulers of Oil Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria, HRM Pere Charles Ayemi-Botu, Mbene III, Ama-Okosu of Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom, Alabo Tobin-West; Chief Boma Obuoforibo, INC National Chairman, and Sir NGO Martins Martyns-Yellowe, Chairman Civil Service Commission. 

The pioneers all concurred that what the Ijaw country needs is genuine federalism, not division. 

Ijaw national pioneer, Chief Edwin Clark said: 

"The Elders and Leaders of Thought of the Ijaw country require the prompt rebuilding of the Nigerian country along the lines of tranquil federalism, and saw this is the panacea for the practical advancement of Nigeria."
