An authority of Diamond Bank, Damola Otuyalo, has told authorities of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that he by and by gave over N1.2bn to a previous Minister of State for Defense, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, and his child, Gbolahan.
The whole practice was said to have been caught on a Closed Circuit Television.
As indicated by the EFCC, the N1.2bn was a piece of the N4.7bn paid into the organization record of Obanikoro's children by the Office of the National Security Adviser amid the development to the Ekiti and Osun states governorship decision in 2014.
Otuyalo, who is the Head of Cash-in-Transit Services, advised criminologists that his obligation was to clear overabundance money from bank's offices and move it to areas where cash was required.
The bank authority was cited to have said, "The recipients were not accessible to be paid as I didn't see them and I was later coordinated by Mr. Head Oiwoh to move the cash to the airplane terminal where I will be given further guideline.
"We moved the money to the air terminal through the Cash-In-Transit seller, Bankers Warehouse Limited. I reached the seller who made the bullion van accessible for development. I for one administered the stacking of the cash into the bullion van and escorted them to the air terminal."
Otuyalo said on getting to the airplane terminal around 7am, he was not permitted into the private wing since he and the security point of interest did not have an entryway pass.
He said a couple of minutes after the fact, Obanikoro's child went to the principle door and requested that the security let the bullion van in.
The bank official further expressed, "When Gbolahan got to the door, he cleared us and we drove in. My manager, Mr. Chief Oiwoh, called me on the phone and affirmed to me that Obanikoro was the recipient of the cash.
"I gave my telephone over to Gbolahan and he addressed my manager. Obanikoro came to meet us at the private wing with two policemen and a few companions. I perceived Obanikoro exceptionally well since he is prevalent."
Otuyalo advised investigators that because of the extensive measure of cash included, it took them a few hours to offload the money unto the plane.
He clarified that it took three planes to convey all the cash.
Criminologists told Punch journalist that the N1.2bn was traveled to Akure Airport and Obanikoro professedly gave over the cash to a partner of Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, Mr. Abiodun Agbele, who had subsequent to been kept by the EFCC.
