The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in an organisation with Heritage Bank Plc has dispensed a sum of N93 million to 310 youthful business people in the nation under the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Program (YEDP) of the peak bank.

The payment of assets worth N3 million each to serving and ex-Corps individuals was done in a joint effort with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), at a function which occurred on Thursday in Abuja.

Talking at the occasion, the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, spoke to by the Deputy Governor (Corporate Services}, Alhaji Sulieman Barau, said that the program was to guarantee that the imaginative energies of the more than 64 million Nigerian young people are saddled to fortify development, address anxiety and advance monetary improvement.

The Managing Director of Heritage Bank, Mr Ifie Sekibo, asked the CBN to grow the program to suit more qualified youth business visionaries.

Citing from the National Bureau of Statistics, Sekibo, who was spoken to by the bank's Executive Director, Corporate Banking, Mrs Mary Akpobome, said there were in regards to 64 million unemployed young people in the nation.
